Body chains: where to wear them and what with
22 October 2026 · 4 min read
Body chains intimidate people because there's no obvious “slot” for them. Think of them as belts that went feral: waist chains sit on jeans, skirts and saree drapes; shoulder-and-torso pieces belong over fitted black — bodysuits, corset tops, ribbed tanks.
Fit is adjustable by design — clasps and extender links. A waist chain should ride the hip bone, not the waist, unless your outfit has a defined waist to anchor it. If it slides while walking, it's a size down, not a styling failure.
Occasion ladder: beach and festivals, full send. College and gigs, waist chain over basics. Family functions, maybe the delicate single-strand only. Know your battlefield.
Our Cathedral Body Chain ships with extender links and cross charms placed to sit flat, not flip. Put it on before shoes — everything with drapes and clasps goes on early, while your hands are free.
