Layer like you mean it: chokers, chains & pendants
5 October 2026 · 3 min read
Layering is the fastest way to go from “nice necklace” to unmistakable. The formula: three lengths, two textures, one focal point.
Start tight — a velvet or leather choker at 30–35cm anchors the throat. Add a mid chain at 45cm, plain or ball-chain. Finish with a pendant at 50–60cm: a coffin, a cross, a skull. The eye travels down the line and lands exactly where you want it.
Mix textures, not chaos. Matte velvet against polished steel works. Three chunky statement pendants fighting each other doesn't. One hero, the rest supporting cast.
Necklines matter. Crew necks and collars frame layers perfectly; deep plunges want a single long pendant, not a stack. And ears count too — if the neck is loud, keep earrings to studs or a single cuff.
